Public information meetings are being held around the state. The closest ones are in Roseburg on June 27, from 3:00-5:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM, at the Douglas County Central Library, Ford Community Room, 1409 NE Diamond Lake Blvd. (Oral testimony will not be taken at the meetings, but you can submit written testimony at that time.)

Written comments will be accepted by Service personnel at any of the scheduled public meetings.
The Dept of Fish & Wildlife has requested certain types of comments from the public. Some of the types of comments requested that are particularly relevant to us include:
Whether the designation will result in disproportionate economic impacts to specific areas that should be evaluated for possible exclusion from the final designation.
For private lands in particular, we are interested in information regarding the potential benefits of including private lands in critical habitat versus the benefits of excluding such lands from critical habitat.
Whether the draft economic analysis identifies all State and local costs. If not, what other costs should be included.
Whether the economic analysis correctly assesses the effect on regional costs and jobs associated with timber harvest and other activities that may derive from the designation.
