Please read the following and consider writing a letter to the District 7 School Board & Superintendent Sweeney.
You may have seen the Courier article on July 24 regarding the D7 School Board’s proposed policy changes for selecting curriculum and library books. In the article, Chris Bristol names four Grants Pass High School library books. I want to share some info about those books so that citizens are informed about what their tax dollars are funding and what kind of content students can access without parental knowledge or consent. The four books Bristol names are:
1. Night of the Living Queer
2. All Boys Aren’t Blue (Contains graphic descriptions of a*nal s*x, ma$turbation, inc*est, o*ral s*x, multiple uses of profanity)
3. Flamer (references ejaculat*on, uses the F word 15 times, the S word 13 times, references por*n, mast*urbation, etc.)
4. Beyond Magenta (F word 15 times, Di*k 10 times, references to pedo*hlia, sui*ide, etc.)
This website is extremely helpful. You click on the link, click on the first letter of the title you are looking for, and scroll to find it. It will open up an extensive document that quotes problematic parts of books and provides a word count for how many times a given profane word is used. I’d like you to please read for yourselves (like the following: it’s graphic).

If you, as a parent, grandparent, or citizen, are troubled by this kind of content, I urge you to tell the District 7 Board and Tim Sweeney, the Superintendent. If you click on this link, it will take you to the Board page, where you can click on their name and connect you to their email address. This is not about sexual orientation or gender identity, this is about sexually expli*it, profane material being funded by tax payers and accessible by minors.

The radical Left should not be the only ones being heard. Please take the time to support our kids and community in this small but impactful way, and please share with others!
